Blood, Sweat and Beers shows to packed Theatre
Sunday, 29 November 2009 00:00

Over 450 people came out for the world premiere of the One hour Documentary about the famed Bentley Generals. But much to the surprise of the audience the film was about much more then just a game.

Recording artists 'Kentucky Shine' from Charleston, North Carolina performed live in the lobby while the audience mingled in high anticipation for the theatre doors to open. After several introductions and a donation to the Ronald Mcdonald House, Blood Sweat and Beers was finally played in it's entirety. The audience laughed, cried and cheered as the film intermixed true hardship of some of the players along with great hockey action.

The night could not have started any better then for the fans to see the Bentley Generals beat their arche rivals the Stony Plain Eagles by a score of 4-3 in overtime. In fitting fashion the overtime goal was scored by Diarmund Kelly, the same player who scored the overtime winner for the Generals to take home the Allan Cup for the first time last season.
